Previous studies have confirmed the potential of hyperspectral spectroscopy (HS) to detect charcoal rot toxin effect on soybean (Glycine max). However, there is no evidence that it can differentiate among difference responses effect. This research tested HS (900–2400 nm) different caused by fungal pathogen Macrophomina phaseolina. Known susceptible ‘Pharaoh’ and resistant ‘Spencer’ cultivars seedlings at V1 stage were tested, reflectance was measured in each treatment 0 h (just before treatment), 24 h, 36 after treatment. For both cultivars, generally decreased up 10% over time for controls increased treated 22%. Pharaoh had significant increases treatment, while Spencer did not exhibit changes 36-h periods.
